The inn between the worlds5/29/2023 ![]() The member of staff refused to get the manager and continued to ignore us. I then asked if the nachos were going to be taken of the menu and he said that’s a word he needs to have to management? So I said no problem may I speak to the manager myself. We’re all grown ups with a very stable income there’s absolutely no need for any of us to have done that. We came to have a nice lunch just to get accused for something so filthy. back and told us that he had checked the cameras and that he knew one of us didn’t put the hair in as the camera could only see one. I went to eat with my mum and a friend after work, when we went to eat the avocado sauce they’re was a massive hair which my mum pulled out of it she told the staff and they went to ‘check’ staff member Daniel came. On the plus side we went across the road to the Mangal Meze and had a lovely meal. Yes we did get the drinks gratis but that was scant compensation for the total unprofessionalism shown here. Just post a list of what you have available. I know the other Wetherspoons the moon and stars was closed but honestly?.what a total shambolic way to run a place. Then had to wait even longer for the paper receipt to show I had been refunded which involved 4 people's input apparently. Had to wait ages for someone to come and authorise the refund. Told steak day yesterday, food order doesn't come til tomorrow. Trek back to the table, chicken and ribs ordered. No ribs.Trek back to the table steak ordered. No steak. Asked what they did have and was told No fish, no gammon but everything else was ok. Mixed Grill. No go because of the gammon.sure they could have substituted it with something else. Told no coleslaw to go with the chicken ordered which was fine as its not the best. No fish available which seems to be a constant at all the Wetherspoons we visited recently. Staff never left dishes on empty tables once customers had left, they cleared them and then cleaned the table itself - ready for the next customer. Within around 5 minutes it came and all of our plates were quickly removed. Ordering dessert was quick and easy, again through the Wetherspoons app. I couldn't believe we got served so quick considering that it was packed and there were only a handful of staff members around. The staff there were very friendly and polite, especially towards my grandmother as she had never been to a Wetherspoons before. The food was very fresh and delicious - the portion sizes were massive considering the inexpensive prices. We paid around £15 for two steak and kidney pudding's with two sides as well as a plate of egg, ham and chips as well as a large Pepsi. As I used the Wetherspoons app I quickly ordered our food and drinks, to which the drinks came within minutes and the food arriving 10-15 minutes later. It was very busy but luckily there were seating both inside of the pub and outside - we eventually found a table which was quickly cleaned by. Me and two other members of my family visited this specific Wetherspoons at around 2pm on Tuesday afternoon. ![]() The excuse of being busy is not acceptable especially on a Saturday, should perhaps employ more staff (being the Manager was presenting people with their meals) sure there must be students happy to take on the role, unless they have and they hadn’t turned up for whatever reason. Overall the food given was average, could have been hotter. Oh well, ate them and the Manager went over to the till once we had finished and gave us a refund of majority of the bill, which to be honest was the best bit of our ‘quick lunch’ which ended up being a longer lunch and we had to get back to the car park as our ticket time was nearly up. Managed to ask the server who happened to be the Manager as to where our food was? He advised us there was no scampi and they are so busy? So why did someone not come and tell us? They have the table no.? So ordered another panini which came out about 5 minutes later, with a few chips on one of the plates, which was unexpected? Panini’s weren’t that hot, just warm. in after us were receiving and eating their food. Realised after about 40 minutes people who had come. Sat down with our drinks, watching more and more people coming in, ordering food. Panini with soft drink and Scampi with chips and soft drink. We popped in early lunchtime, wasn’t that busy, ordered 2 meals. Then in September they did a performance for The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon of American Head’s “God and the Policeman,” with each band member in their signature giant plastic bubbles. And to make it even more timely, they did “Race for the Prize,” a classic from 1999’s The Soft Bulletin about two scientists racing to find a cure. In June 2020, The Flaming Lips performed for The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, with the entire band in separate plastic bubbles and also their audience, including some kids, in bubbles. Longtime collaborator Dave Fridmann co-produced American Head with the band. The band released a new album, American Head, last September via Warner Records ( stream it here). Below check out an earlier video of when they tested out the experience before staging a full on ticketed. CT at Wayne Coyne has been performing in giant plastic bubbles for years now, but due to the pandemic the whole band has also been performing in bubbles and now also the audience. A concert in which the lead singer of The Flaming Lips performed while inside a plastic bubble transformed, thanks to COVID-19, into an event in which everyone was inside bubbles. Tickets go on sale for both shows this Wednesday (February 3) at 10:00 a.m. They will happen on March 12 and 13 at The Criterion in Oklahoma City and follow their first such concert at the same venue last night. The band appeared on 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert' in protective bubbles, performing what the show called a 'socially distant concert. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.Leave it to The Flaming Lips to find an innovative way to still safely have concerts in the pandemic and now they have announced two more space bubble concerts, in which the entire audience are in their own plastic bubbles while watching the band perform. The Flaming Lips is a Warner Music artist. We’re thinking this will probably happen after the election.” The Flaming Lips perform in plastic bubbles Coyne and the band first unveiled the concept during a May visit to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. It’s how we get the crowd in and out without cross-contamination that we need to figure out, but they’re giving us a few weeks in this venue to figure it out. The part about playing in the bubble, we already have down. Those are the things the venue is allowing us to set up so we can start to figure out how it will work. ![]() We want this to be safe and a great experience. The part that we’re trying to get down is what does the crowd do about going to the bathroom and getting drinks? We don’t want this to be like that Smash Mouth. He continued to speak about the logistical challenges with this sort of performance, saying, “We, The Flaming Lips, already know how to do space bubbles and we know what people do when they’re in the bubbles. It’s taken a while but I finally have them here, so a half-hour ago I was in a big venue where we set up a hundred space bubbles for 300 audience members to be in while we play a show.” It took us a month or two to figure out the logistics so we didn’t even really know if this would still be going on by the time it aired but that was in June, and after that I ordered 100 space bubbles to be made in China. The Flaming Lips stage rock concert in bubbles Rock band The Flaming Lips has staged unique concerts by placing the audience inside 'space' bubbles to keep everyone safe from. ![]() So we said we’d do it in the space bubbles. But The Late Show With Stephen Colbert got a hold of me and asked if we’d want to do one of these concerts where you play from home. That was at the start of quarantine in March when we thought it would be over in a month. “I made a little cartoon commentary of a Flaming Lips concert in 2019 where I’m the only one in a bubble and then a Flaming Lips concert in 2020 where everyone is in a bubble on stage and in the crowd. In an interview last week, Coyne explained how the idea came about, saying: Setlist.fm notes the band only performed two songs and played each twice: American Head tracks “Brother Eye” and “Assassins Of Youth.” The performance apparently had two purposes: To test the idea of doing a full-on bubble concert, and as a video shoot, according to Brooklyn Vegan.
